These are some frequently asked questions about the Toronto Independent Games Conference. Check out our About page for more information about us.
- Who will benefit from attending this conference?
- Anyone interested in or a part of the game development industry will take away something from the event. We have attempted to make the sessions interesting enough that both developers and students will have something to learn from them.
- What is the admission cost? Why can't I get in for free?
- The admission is $75 per person. This is very reasonable considering the cost of the major conferences such at the GDC. We do, however, have to charge to cover expenses for the venue as well as for catering and other maintenance services.
However, there are discounts available for students and IGDA members, as well as a group rate for people registering in groups of five or more.
- Where is the event being held, and how do I get there?
- TBD
- You guys are doing a bang-up job, and I'd really like to support you. How can I go about doing that?
- We are always looking for sponsors and donations to help defer the costs of facilities, catering, and attendee services. To avoid charging ridiculous prices for entry we rely on our own pockets and on outside sponsors to cover our expenditures. If you are interested in donating or becoming a sponsor, please contact us. All sponsors will get advertising space on our website as well as on any print materials that are used in advertising in recognition of their contributions.
- I am a developer and would like to help out by running a session. What's the best way of organizing this?
- We are always glad to have more speakers in any field of the industry. Please visit our call for submissions for details on presenting, including the submissions deadline. If we can't fit you in this time around, we'll be glad to put you on next year's short list. If you are interested in contributing, you can contact us, and we will reply as soon as possible.
