About the Toronto Independent Games Conference

The Toronto Independent Games Conference (TIGC) is a Toronto-based educational conference and trade event for game developers, with a strong focus on 3rd party "indie" developers, hobbyists, and students.

TIGC provides educational, business, and networking opportunities for both game development professionals and those who would like to break into the game development industry. It is a way for those interested in game development to gather and exchange ideas and learn from each other.

History of TIGC

TIGC was founded in 2005 as the GDNet Toronto Mini-Conference (GTMC), a one-day educational and networking event for Toronto-based hobbyist and indie developers sponsored by GameDev.Net. In 2006 the organizers of GTMC decided that the Greater Toronto Area, and the province of Ontario overall, would be better supported by a full, multi-day conference for professionals, hobbyists, and students alike.
